Lamu is probably the most relaxed and relaxing place you will ever visit. It is an archipelago off the Kenya Coast and its main island is called Lamu.
The pace of Lamu is slow. It is a place where you sleep ten hours without interruption. Prepare yourself to take one hour at the time, walking the 10km unspoilt Shela Beach or sipping a drink on a dhow sailing the Lamu Archipelago.
Take a walk or dhow to Lamu Town and walk around in Lamu Old Town a UNESCO world heritage site. Get lost in the narrow streets that will never fit a car and ask someone to guide you back to the waterfront. Visit the market and have a juice overlooking the creek and neighbouring Manda Island.
Gather together with the local crowd and hotel guests at the famous Peponi Hotel.
